In partnership with Valspar Inc. "Q-thane", a ready-to-bury* underground coating, has been developed. Q-thane is a high build, high performance, single application urethane coating that has been uniquely formulated to maximize corrosion resistance and coating performance in underground applications.
- Q-thane is designed to offer optimum performance in underground conditions when buried with the coating skin 100% intact and with cathodic protection installed.

Q-Kushion
QSC Offers "Q-Kushion™" Shock Absorber
Quality Steel has made a small improvement in our tanks that will reap major benefits to the propane dealer. The product is tagged "Q-Kushion™", a combination shock absorber and spacer that is made of neoprene rubber. It was developed to keep the bottom edge of the dome from scratching or chipping the paint on the top of the tank.
The "Q-Kushion™" is shaped like a "Q" and simply slips over the locking tab. This will act as a cushion to protect the paint finish for years to come. This small improvement will help you maintain your tanks once they are in the field, and hopefully reducing maintenance costs over the long haul.

SofCradle
SofCradle is Quality Steel's answer to tank damaged during the shipping process. Due to wind resistance and poor road conditions, it is nearly impossible to eliminate all paint-related damages. Fortunately, this system allows us to come very close.
"The SofCradle system reduced the amount of surface area contact between the cradle and the tank, further reducing any chance of tank damage," explains Paul Bobitt, General Manager. "The use of this patented design causes the stacked height of the load to be lower. A lower load means less wind resistance, which leads to less shifting and damage that results from shifting."
As for poor road conditions...we suggest writing your Congressman. In the meantime, we have begun investing in a new fleet of air-ride trailers. Combining their "feather-light" ride with the SofCradle system, QSC has virtually eliminated shipping-related damages.
