SofCradle is Quality Steel’s answer to tank damaged during the shipping process. Due to wind resistance and poor road conditions, it is nearly impossible to eliminate all paint-related damages. Fortunately, this system allows us to come very close.

"The SofCradle system reduced the amount of surface area contact between the cradle and the tank, further reducing any chance of tank damage," explains Paul Bobitt, General Manager. "The use of this patented design causes the stacked height of the load to be lower. A lower load means less wind resistance, which leads to less shifting and damage that results from shifting."

As for poor road conditions...we suggest writing your Congressman. In the meantime, we have begun investing in a new fleet of air-ride trailers. Combining their "feather-light" ride with the SofCradle system, QSC has virtually eliminated shipping-related damages.
